We treat
addiction.
That is the
whole of it.

SEVA Society is a private, one-to-one recovery practice working in two areas: substance addiction and behavioural addiction. Two four-week intensives. No groups, no classrooms, no standardized curriculum delivered identically to everyone.

We are not the right program for everyone, and we do not pretend otherwise. We are selective, because this work requires genuine willingness to change. If we choose to work with you, it is because we believe you can do this. We will expect you to believe it too.

Complex psychology. Practical application. Recovery simplified.

Chapter 02, The Framework

SEVA is an integrative recovery practice organized around four principles: Schema, Education, Values, Adaptation.

i.

Schema

Long before addiction becomes visible, people develop ways of understanding themselves, pain, safety, failure, belonging, and control. Those patterns matter. We help people recognize the ones still running the show.

Enough of the past to stop it dictating the present. Not a decade of examining childhood.

ii.

Education

You cannot change what you cannot recognize. We teach people to understand their own thinking without turning them into amateur psychologists. Having a thought does not make it true, useful, or worth following.

Understand your own mind well enough that it becomes harder for your addiction to bullshit you.

iii.

Values

Recovery cannot stay a list of things you are trying to stop. Eventually it has to become about what you are protecting and what you are building. Family. Integrity. Health. Purpose. Freedom. The future.

The question stops being what am I trying to stop, and becomes who am I trying to become.

iv.

Adaptation

Understanding something is not the same as changing it. Recovery has to survive outside the room. We turn understanding into practised responses, and practised responses into reflex, the same way driving stops requiring conscious effort.

Make reality the reflex.

The paradox is that hedonism, the pursuit of pleasure for its own sake, leads to anhedonia, which is the inability to enjoy pleasure of any kind.

Chapter 03, The Programs

Two programs. Four weeks. One person at a time.

  1. SEVA Substance Addiction Intensive

A private, intensive, four-week one-to-one program for alcohol and drug addiction. For people who have run out of patience with their own explanations.

    Read the program
  2. SEVA Behavioural Addiction Intensive

A private, intensive, four-week one-to-one program for compulsive behaviour that continues despite real harm to relationships, health, responsibilities, and self-respect.

    Read the program

Both programs run on the same framework and follow the same arc: understand, recognize, respond, adapt. Follow-up at thirty, sixty, and ninety days.

Both intensives

You are the sky. Everything else, it's just the weather.

Chapter 04, The Ethics

On who we work with

Physicians, psychiatrists, surgeons, athletes, actors, musicians, public figures, and people with none of those titles. Addiction does not care about intelligence, wealth, or expertise.

On what clients need

They don't need someone to be impressed by them. They need someone who isn't fooled by their addiction.

On honesty

We will not bullshit you. We will not help you bullshit yourself. We expect the same in return.

On what we are not

Not a twelve-step program. Not a retreat. Not group treatment. Not spiritual, and not religious. One person, one practitioner, four weeks, and work that is expected to get done.
